Harapan emas Malaysia dalam Sukan Paralimpik Tokyo, Cheah Liek Hou, mungkin terpaksa beraksi bersama pemain normal selepas gusar, masih tiada khabar berita daripada Persekutuan Badminton Dunia (BWF) tentang kalendar membabitkan pemain para untuk tahun hadapan.
Setakat ini, masih belum ada pengumuman rasmi daripada BWF mengenai kalendar pemain para bagi 2021.
Badan induk dunia itu tempohari sudah mengumumkan tiga kejohanan di Thailand untuk pemain normal, termasuk saingan akhir Jelajah Dunia.
Ia mencetus kebimbangan buat Liek Hou yang sudah sembilan bulan kemarau daripada menyertai sebarang pertandingan.
Kali terakhir pemain berusia 32 tahun itu beraksi adalah Februari lalu di Peru dan menjuarai kejohanan itu.
"Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) telah menyediakan perancangan untuk saya bagi menghadapi saingan tahun depan namun saya masih tidak mengetahui pertandingan yang bakal dianjurkan buat pemain badminton para," kata Liek Hou.
Jika keadaan ini berterusan, Liek Hou sudah menimbang untuk cuba beraksi dalam mana-mana kejohanan bersama pemain normal, namun ia memerlukan sokongan daripada Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM).
Ia bukanlah situasi yang asing, dengan Liek Hou pernah menyertai Cabaran Antarabangsa Malaysia pada 2009, beraksi dalam beregu campuran bersama Lim Siew Ching.
"Saingan kejohanan para ditangguh, saya mungkin akan beraksi dalam pemain normal bagi memastikan saya mendapatkan semula sentuhan pertandingan."
