Pengarah Teknikal, Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM), Morten Frost, menegaskan mengapa beliau mahu jurulatih daripada kalangan tenaga tempatan untuk menunjangi program kebangsaan.
Tahun 2017 akan menyaksikan skuad badminton Malaysia memiliki 12 jurulatih dan sembilan daripada mereka adalah daripada kalangan bekas pemain kebangsaan.
Frost berpandangan pendekatan ini tidak sekadar bersandarkan faktor sentimen tetapi kualiti dimiliki jurulatih tempatan seperti dibuktikan Jeremy Gan yang meningkatkan prestasi skuad beregu lelaki dan campuran.
"Saya mahukan sistem yang kami ada mampu untuk bertahan walaupun saya tidak lagi memegang jawatan ini dan tempat saya digantikan dengan orang lain.
"Saya mahu orang yang menggantikan saya nanti mampu untuk meneruskannya dengan sistem yang baik, dan sudah tentu melakukan perubahan yang terbaik untuk pasukan jika beliau mahukan,” kata Frost.
