Dalam satu temu bual Astro Supersport, pemain sayap Manchester United itu mengimbas kembali pengalamannya hampir bertemu dengan idolanya itu di Singapura.
Chong Wei merupakan peminat tegar Manchester United dan berada di Stadium Nasional, Singapura ketika menyaksikan The Red Devils menewaskan Inter Milan 1-0 dalam Piala Juara-Juara Antarabangsa (ICC), Julai lalu.
"Saya sebenarnya telah memberikannya autograf. Saya menandatanganinya tetapi barisan terlalu panjang, jadi saya tidak melihatnya dengan jelas dan tidak perasan bahawa itu adalah dia.
"Saya mungkin akan menegurnya dan berbual dengannya," katanya.
James turut mendedahkan minatnya terhadap sukan badminton sebelum beralih ke bola sepak.
"Saya cintakan bola sepak tetapi saya juga menggemari badminton dan kerap bermain sukan itu sewaktu lebih muda.
"Saya selalu menonton perlawanan badminton, melihat Chong Wei, Lin Dan dan perseteruan mereka, ia amat hebat," tambahnya.
