Khabib Nurmagomedov could be cutting his retirement short after his manager posted a cryptic message on Twitter on Tuesday.

The UFC lightweight champion clinched a perfect 29-0 record with a submission win over Justin Gaethje in Abu Dhabi last month before announcing his retirement on the spot.

"Today I want to say it was my last fight. No way I’m going to come here without my father. It was first time after what happened with my father.

"When UFC called me about Justin, I talked with my mother for three days, she didn’t want me to fight without my father.

"But I promised her, it’s going to be my last fight. And if I give my word, I have to follow this. It was my last fight here," he said right after the fight.

His father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov died in July due to coronavirus-related complications

However, despite the announcement, Khabib had not been taken off the UFC roster and still retained his UFC lightweight title.

Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib's manager, further added to the speculation with a simple tweet on Tuesday: "30-0".

According to sources, Khabib's late father had wanted him to achieve the perfect 30-0 mark before he called time on his professional career.
