Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson attempted to further cement his status as the Flyweight GOAT last Thursday, 8 April, when he challenged ONE Flyweight World Champion Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes in the main event of “ONE on TNT I.”

Unfortunately for Johnson, Moraes stunned him with an uppercut and then a crushing knee to score the second-round KO win – the first time “Mighty Mouse” has even been stopped.

Afterward, Johnson praised the ONE World Champion for the legacy he’s continuing to build.

“It was a good win for him and a great performance,” DJ said.

“[Moraes] went out there and finished me, and I think for him, [he needs to] keep on writing his story and get introduced more to the American fans. He just needs to keep on being active and fighting and put on great performances.”

As for the 12-time Mixed Martial Arts World Champion, he’s now considering taking a break from the all-encompassing sport and turning his attention to striking.

“When you’ve been the best in the world for six years straight, it’s almost like you don’t want to put that pressure on yourself,” Johnson said.

“So for me, I’m like, ‘Why not let me try a kickboxing fight with big gloves and say I had a professional kickboxing fight?’ So we’ll see.”

ONE Super Series fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet. Before he tests himself in the stand-up art, Johnson wants to return to another pastime.

“I just want to get back home to my wife and kids and see what’s up,” he said.
