Malaysia U-22 captain Adib Zainuddin confirmed he will be joining Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) next year.

After solid performances in the past year with the national youth team, the Felcra defender, who is on loan from UiTM, had been linked with several clubs including from Thailand.

However, the 22-year-old decided to return to Johor, where he was born and spent his youth career.

"I see JDT as a club on the rise as many players also want to move there," he said.

"The factor of playing for my home state team also contributed to my decision."

Although his announcement came in the middle Felcra's promotion push, having beaten Terengganu City to reach the FAM League promotion play-off semi-finals, Adib insisted he is still focused on the task at hand.

"I still have a contract with Felcra and I will fulfill Felcra's objective of getting promoted to the Premier League," he added.

"Our next opponents, Sime Darby, are a tough team in the FAM League, but I believe we will reach the final."
