Brendan Gan denied accusations that he was recently offered a move to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

The former Kelantan midfielder, who is currently recovering from his anterior cruciate ligament injury, took to social media to address the issue after being criticised by JDT sports director Alistair Edwards for allegedly using the club's name for publicity.

“I am very disappointed that a club as big and professional as JDT has responded to rumours and fabricated quotes that I didn't make,” he wrote.

“I have made no comments to any media outlets [and] have not committed my future to any clubs [as] my sole focus has been on my rehabilitation, which is progressing very well."

Gan revealed that the Southern Tigers did approach him once, but it was back in 2014.

“I was honoured when JDT made contact with me in 2014 to join their side, but I decided the timing for me to change teams and cities just was not right.

“I had another year on contract with Kelantan and, as a loyal player to any club I have been at, I chose to see out my contract with The Red Warriors and fight for the title."
