D'Angelo Russell will playing in his first NBA All-Star Game this year.

On Tuesday, the league announced the fourth-year Nets point guard will replace Victor Oladipo as an Eastern Conference reserve.

Oladipo was having a quality year before suffering a season-ending leg injury on Jan. 23 against the Raptors. But Russell is having an impressive season as well.

Russell is averaging career highs in points (19.6) and assists (6.4) this season. He has led a young Brooklyn team to a 28-25 record, which is good for sixth in the Eastern Conference.

The main event will kick off Sunday, Feb. 17 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C.
