A furious P.V. Sindhu took to social media to slam a news report which accused her for leaving the national camp in India ‘in a huff’ to fly to London due to tensions in her family.

The world number seven clarified her visit to London, and went on to bash the publication and its journalist for the slanderous story.

“I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrition and recovery needs. I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely there were no family rifts in this regard. Why will I have problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake?

“Mine is a very close knitted family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family members everyday,” said Sindhu, adding she would resort to legal proceedings if the slander doesn’t stop.

I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrtion and recovery needs with GSSI.Infact I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely they were no family rifts in this regard. Why will I have problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake. Mine is a very close knitted family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family members everyday. Also I do not have any issues with my coach Mr Gopichand or the training facilities at the academy. Mr M. Ratnakar the sports reporter of TOI who is spreading false news should know the facts first before writing them. The 2016 Olympic silver medalist also denied having any issues with India’s national chief P. Gopichand, as reported in the press recently.

Sindhu last featured at the All England in March, where she lost in the last eight to Japan's Nozomi Okuhara.

She is currently in London as part of her preparation to prepare for the Asian leg scheduled to happen in January in Bangkok.

The three Asian events will begin with two Asia Open tournaments, followed by the BWF World Tour Finals.

For this year, the international badminton season has ended with the conclusion of the Denmark Open.

The Super 750 event took place without a glitch and the world body has been asked to come up with a guideline on how to organize future tournaments.

The Denmark Open, while successful, was void of several world class participation including Kento Momota, Sindhu as well as representation from Malaysia, China and Indonesia.
