The Malaysia women's squash team were handed a shock 0-2 loss by India in the women's team semi-finals at the 2018 Asian Games on Friday.
Malaysia, who had reached the semi-finals by beating Pakistan, were the defending champions going into the match, having won the team event twice since it was included for the Asian Games in 2010.
In the first game, Joshana Chinappa beat Nicol David, who won a gold medal in the women's singles event earlier, 12-10, 11-9, 6-11, 10-12, 11-9 to give India a 1-0 lead.
It was Nicol's second defeat to the world no. 16, having lost at the El Gouna International Open in April earlier this year.
Dipika Pallikal then sealed the win for her country by defeating Low Wee Wern 11-2, 11-9, 11-7.
India will next face Hong Kong in the final after the latter overcame Japan 2-0 in the other semi-final tie.
Both Malaysia and Japan finished with bronze.
