Atlet gimrama negara, Ng Joe Ee, melakar kejutan dalam persembahan terakhir acara reben apabila memperoleh pingat emas kedua peribadi dalam saingan Sukan Komanwel Birmingham, sebentar tadi.
Selepas berjaya membutirkan pingat emas dalam acara bola, Joe Ee sekali lagi turun untuk melakukan rutin bagi apparatus reben.
Turun selaku pesaing terakhir daripada lapan atlet, gerakan Joe Ee ternyata berjaya memukau juri dengan memperoleh 27.800 mata sekaligus memintas pendahulu saingan dari Scotland, Louise Christie yang meraih 27.550 mata dan Carmel Kallemaa dari Kanada (27.500 mata).
Rakan senegara, Koi Sie Yan, terpaksa akur menamatkan saingan di tempat keempat dengan 27.200 mata.
Emas yang diperoleh Joe Ee ini menjadikan kutipan pingat emas yang keenam sekaligus menepati sasaran pingat emas yang ditetapkan kontinjen negara bagi saingan Sukan Komanwel edisi 2022.
