Team World won the Laver Cup for the first time after stunning their European counterparts 13-8 thanks to superb performances from Felix Auger-Aliassime and Frances Tiafoe.

Team World started Sunday trailing 4-8 and looking likely to suffer their fifth straight Laver Cup defeat.

But Auger-Aliassime kicked off the unlikely comeback win for John McEnroe’s side by partnering Jack Sock to beat Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini 2-6 6-3 10-8 before shocking 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic with a 6-3 7-6(3) triumph.

Tiafoe, who teamed up with Sock to defeat Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal two days ago, sealed the win by overcoming Stefanos Tsitsipas 1-6 7-6(11) 10-8.

The last-minute Team World replacement call-up, who reached the US Open semi-finals for the first time earlier this month, impressively saved four match points in the second set.
