Perkara itu disahkan oleh jurulatih beregu campuran negara, Pang Cheh Chang.
"Kami juga terkejut kerana lima minggu sebelum datang ke sini, keadaannya sangat baik," katanya.
"Ini kemalangan, kami pun tidak jangka. Dia pun rasa susah hati, itu biasalah. Macam itulah keadaannya."
Soon Huat, yang bergandingan dengan Shevon Lai Jemie, dilaporkan mengalami kecederaan itu ketika sesi latihan ringan dan dijangka akan berehat sekurang-kurangnya untuk tempoh tiga minggu.
Mereka sepatutnya bertemu pasangan dari China, Wang Yilu dan Huang Dongping, dalam pusingan pertama, hari ini.
