The ATM Guardians finally suffered their first 2018 Sepak Takraw League (STL) Premier defeat of the season on Friday, losing to the Kuala Lumpur Thunder.

The league leaders, who had not surrendered a single set since the start of the season, lost in straight sets 17-21, 19-21 with tekong Hairul Haidzir making 13 errors that led to the defeat.

The win allowed the Kuala Lumpur outfit to move level on points (14) with the Guardians at the top.



In mid-table, the Perak Bison and the Kelantan Warriors continued to keep up with the top three by beating the PDRM Defenders and the Terengganu Turtles respectively.

Both had to come back from a set down to clinch their respective wins, with the Bison winning 19-21, 21-18, 21-11 and the Warriors 15-21, 21-10, 21-17.



Meanwhile, Melaka Titans continued to be the whipping boys of the league, losing 0-2 to the Johor Tigris.

Their 16-21, 19-21 loss was their eighth defeat in nine matches this season, more than any other team, which saw them sitting at the bottom of the league table.
