The ATM Guardians edged closer to the 2018 Sepak Takraw League (STL) Premier title after beating the Selangor Pistons 2-0 on Saturday.

In the penultimate round, the league leaders held their nerves to win 21-18, 21-17 and regain the top spot from defending champions Penang Black Panthers, who had beaten the Selangor side 2-0 on Friday.

ATM's victory also confirmed the Pistons' relegation to the Division 1, joining bottom-of-the-table Melaka Titans.

With just one round remaining, ATM lead the standings ahead of Penang thanks to a +1 set difference and can seal the top division title on Sunday at the Gem In Mall, Cyberjaya

They just need to match or better Penang's result against Melaka, which starts earlier than their game against the Thunder.

The mid-table battle for the final two Champions Cup spots would also conclude on Sunday, with the Kelantan Warriors facing the Terengganu Turtles, and the Perak Bison locking horns with the PDRM Defenders.

The winners of the respective ties would join ATM, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and the Johor Tigris in the season-ending tournament in December.
