Tim Mannah has announced his retirement from rugby league - but he will be staying with Parramatta Eels in an off-field role.

Mannah spent his entire NRL career with the Eels, playing over 200 games, but it had been confirmed he would not be staying on beyond the 2019 season.

There had been reports of a move to Wests Tigers, yet he has now clarified his future.

The 31-year-old completed a sports business degree in 2017 and will be hang up the boots to become part of Parramatta's commercial team.

Mannah, who represented New South Wales in State of Origin, said: "I've had a great time in the game and it's given me and my family so much.

"I'm extremely grateful for the support I've received from the Eels and our passionate Blue and Gold Army. I truly believe we have the best fans in the world.

"I'll always have amazing memories of the experiences I've had and the people I've met along the way, but now I'm excited to open a new chapter in my career."
