Brad Dwyer sealed a dramatic golden-point victory for Leeds Rhinos as they ended a five-game winless streak by beating Castleford Tigers 21-20.

The Rhinos had looked in complete control of Thursday's clash at Headingley as they opened up a 10-4 advantage by half-time thanks to tries from Konrad Hurrell and Ash Handley – Liam Sutcliffe adding a penalty.

Sutcliffe and Trent Merrin crossed early in the second half to give bottom-club Leeds a 20-4 lead, but there appeared to be a twist in the tale.

Castleford's recovery began just after the hour as Greg Minikin dotted down, and 10 minutes later the Tigers were level as Chris Clarkson and Alex Foster also crossed the whitewash.

With the scores level both sides pushed for a late winner, but they needed extra time to decide the victor.

And Dwyer ensured it was Leeds celebrating as he slotted a crisp 40-metre drop goal in the second minute of the additional period.
