Last Friday, 22 November, local heroes and global martial arts stars inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium delivered some eye-popping performances at ONE: EDGE OF GREATNESS.

The winners from Friday’s event not only moved up the ranks in their respective divisions, but their victories created some exciting opportunities for the future.

We examine three of the potential match-ups that could be next for the winners of ONE: EDGE OF GREATNESS.

Troy Worthen

American wrestler “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen dominated his last two matches.

At ONE: EDGE OF GREATNESS, Worthen used his top-level wrestling skills to dismantle “Rock Man” Chen Lei and earn his second stoppage win of the year.

The Florida native has quickly caught on with fans who enjoy his high-pressure style and wrestling acumen.

Dagestani Yusup “Maestro” Saadulaev would make a worthy opponent. Saadulaev is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and hails from a region known for its wrestling.

Furthermore, “Maestro” has logged five consecutive victories so far, and a match between the two could unearth the bantamweight division’s next top contender.

Rahul Raju

Rahul “The Kerala Krusher” Raju is in the best shape of his career.

The lightweight had a sensational submission finish over Furqan “The Lion” Cheema last Friday.

The Singapore-based Indian athlete has improved steadily since his ONE debut in 2018. He now owns two back-to-back submission wins and will look to impose his will on the rest of the division.

Raju can test his impressive wrestling skills against Pieter “The Archangel” Buist. Thanks to his excellent striking, the Dutchman has authored two wins this year.

Should “The Kerala Krusher” prevail in this exciting clash of styles, he could separate himself from the rest of the top contenders in the lightweight division.

Alex Silva

With each passing victory, former ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex “Little Rock” Silva gets closer to his goal of reclaiming the gold.

On Friday, Silva submitted Chinese grappler Peng Xue Wen in the second round, earning him his second win in just four months.

The resurgent Brazilian could cross paths with Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado from the Philippines next. The Filipino is in remarkable form – just the week before, he scored a massive knockout win against Miao Li Tao at ONE: AGE OF DRAGONS.

Although “Little Rock” is a few steps away from challenging for the belt once again, a match against an in-form opponent like Miado would be an exciting test.

For one last time this year, ONE Championship returns to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS at the Axiata Arena on 6 December.
