After a surprise appearance at All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event in Jacksonville, Florida last Saturday, 23 May, Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort never imagined he would get to cameo as a pro wrestler.

However, this is exactly what happened on Wednesday, 27 May at AEW’s Dynamite.

Joined by mixed martial arts World Champions “Sugar” Rashad Evans and Henry Cejudo, Belfort was actually there to back up his friend and one of boxing’s most iconic figures – “Iron” Mike Tyson.

Shortly after the group invaded Dynamite, “Iron” Mike confronted wrestling great and former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho about a run-in years ago.

Back in January 2010 – when Tyson was a guest host on an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw – he teamed up with Jericho for a match against bitter rivals D-Generation X.

All went as planned, except that Tyson was merely setting up for the ultimate double-cross. Midway through the match, the boxer from Brownsville stripped off his shirt to reveal he had switched allegiances and dropped Jericho with a hook, giving D-Generation X the victory.

With memories of that knockout fresh on his mind, a vengeful Jericho angrily demanded an apology from the boxing legend on Wednesday.

Still defiant and shirtless, a 53-year-old Tyson stepped up and jawed with Jericho, before sending the wrestling icon back with a strong shove.

Jericho pushed back and pandemonium broke out. As Jericho’s Inner Circle got involved in the melee, Tyson’s entourage quickly stepped in to defend their friend.

The fracas was short-lived as Belfort and company managed to restrain Tyson, who was seen screaming furiously as he exited the arena.

With both sides having unfinished business, it might not be long before fans can expect to see the mixed martial arts legend back inside the squared circle.
