This Friday, 10 January, ONE Championship returns to the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand to kick off its first show of 2020.

ONE: A NEW TOMORROW promises to deliver a thrilling night of action, complete with the biggest names in martial arts.

Before the action gets underway at the Impact Arena, we look at three of the finest performances from the athletes set to compete in the Thai capital.

“The Iron Man” Captures The Gold

Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon scored the biggest win of his career last August at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES.

The Thai hero dethroned Johnathan “The General” Haggerty to win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title in a thrilling battle that went down to the wire.

Rodtang started slowly as he looked to break through the range of his taller English opponent. However, in the third frame, he adjusted to Haggerty’s reach and soon, “The Iron Man” began to find a home for his punches and kicks.

After a powerful salvo of hooks, Rodtang hit a huge right hand that dropped “The General,” but Haggerty clung on to move to the fifth round.

Rodtang dialed up the pressure in the final round and poured on a relentless stream of strikes.

Despite the occasional reply from his foe, the Thai’s power and constant forward pressure stood out throughout their encounter.

In the end, the judges rendered the unanimous decision in favor of the Thai challenger, who then became the new ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion.

Thanh Le Starches The “Maestro”

LFA Featherweight Champion Thanh Le delivered an impressive debut performance at ONE: FOR HONOR last May.

The taekwondo black belt overcame an onslaught of grappling from Yusup “Maestro” Saadulaev in the first round to score a fantastic knockout in the second frame.

The Vietnamese-American showed off his striking repertoire early as he threw punches to fend off the takedown attempts from Saadulaev.

But even after he managed to crack his rival with a huge right hand, he could not prevent Saadulaev from dragging him down to the canvas.

Le hung tough to survive, and when the action resumed in the second round, he remained on the offensive.

He threw up a high kick, and just as Saadulaev ducked to avoid the hit, Le unleashed a devastating knee that knocked out the Russian athlete just seconds into round two.

Stamp Fairtex’s Quick Double Kicks

ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex showed she was ready for the global stage in her debut on Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS).

The Thai superstar took on Rashi Shinde at OWS 2, and it was her phenomenal striking that earned her the victory.

Stamp opened the contest with a right low kick, then went high with a right kick that stopped Shinde in her tracks.

Thanks to the encouraging start, the 22-year-old went on to capture the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Titles to become the first two-sport ONE World Champion.
