ONE: A NEW TOMORROW kicked off the new year with a night of scintillating martial arts action in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, 10 January.

Fans at the Impact Arena reveled in the masterful performances from world-class athletes who showcased breathtaking finishes, incredible submissions, and explosive skills.

Here are the top three highlights from a terrific evening in the Thai capital.

“Hitman” Hunts Down Foe To Score First ONE Super Series Win

On Friday, Liam “Hitman” Harrison added Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud to his growing list of casualties.

The British striker needed just over two minutes to knock Mohammed out in their ONE Super Series Muay Thai duel.

While “Jordan Boy” teased him with several leg kicks, Harrison instead exercised patience, wisely biding his time while he searched for an opening.

Within a minute, the Englishman saw his chance.

A couple of sharp jabs sent Mohammed into the ropes, which opened him up for a prime shot right to the liver. Before the Malaysian could muster a reply, Harrison swung a crushing left hook that dropped him.

Clearly wobbled, Mohammed managed to answer the referee’s eight count, but he was quickly met with a barrage of punches and hit the canvas for the second time.

The Kuala Lumpur native got up yet again, but this time, “Hitman” unloaded another series of punches and elbows that dropped Mohammed for good.

Le Starches Takahashi With Massive Hook

Thanh Le continued his rise up the featherweight ranks with a stunning first-round knockout of Ryogo “Kaitai” Takahashi.

The pair exchanged leg kicks at the beginning of the bout, but it was Le who started to move and land punches on his Japanese opponent.

The Vietnamese-American threw a kick that “Kaitai” caught, but Le managed to shake him loose and connected with a huge right hand to the Japanese athlete’s jaw.

Le followed up with a hard knee just as Takahashi tried to get back to his feet. He then crunched a thudding straight left onto the chin and crumpled the Krazy Bee representative.

With another incredible first-round finish in the books, Le could soon find himself challenging for featherweight gold.

“The Iron Man” TKOs Haggerty In World Title Rematch

ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon successfully defended the gold against rival Jonathan “The General” Haggerty in their main event rematch.

The Englishman threatened early with his long frame and stabbing kicks, but Rodtang looked to ease himself into the contest using the raw power of his hands.

“The Iron Man” landed a hard shot to the liver that had Haggerty on his knees. Once the action resumed, Rodtang proceeded to target the Englishman’s ribs with impunity.

In the second frame, the Jitmuangnon representative attacked Haggerty’s lead leg, forced him to step forward, and then served him punishing blows to the torso.

The Knowlesy Academy athlete strung together some punches and tried to sweep the World Champion, but “The Iron Man” leaped over to evade.

A defiant Haggerty connected with a kick to the face, but it could not stop Rodtang’s advances in the third round.

The Thai pushed Haggerty to the ropes and dropped him with a series of punches to the body. After Haggerty got up, Rodtang launched looping blows to the head that sent the Englishman down again.

“The General” dragged himself up from the floor once more, but Rodtang delivered a final salvo of strikes that finished him off at 2:39 of round three.
