Tiffany “No Chill” Teo and Radeem Rahman have been friends and training partners for a long time – but they have never gotten the chance to compete together.

On Friday, 28 February, that all changes. Both athletes will participate at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE in Singapore.

Rahman opens the lead card against Canadian Jeff Chan in a bantamweight match-up, while Teo clashes with rising Japanese sensation Ayaka Miura in a women’s strawweight tilt on the main card.

The two Singaporean athletes are thrilled to compete side-by-side on the same event.

“Most of [Rahman’s] fights were not in Singapore. They are usually in Jakarta or China, so I was really happy that he’s fighting here,” Teo said.

“I was just chilling when he told me he was fighting and I told him, ‘That’s awesome it’s in Singapore.’ Then it wasn’t long after that I found out I was going to be competing too. I was excited since we could train together.”

Rahman shared similar sentiments.

“We were both really excited because we finally get a chance to see our hard work pay off in the Circle, so it’s kind of cool to compete together,” Rahman said.

The duo frequently trains at each other’s gyms while preparing for bouts.

Rahman, who trains out of Neue Fit in Kallang, Singapore, hops into Teo’s gym – Team Highlight Reel in Chinatown – to get BJJ instruction from head coach Major Overall.

He also spars with “No Chill,” who is a Singapore Boxing Champion, and picks up tips in both grappling and boxing.

“She’s really good, explosive, and hardworking. She’s an ideal training partner, especially since she’s also in ONE,” Rahman said.

“I started to understand more about distance, about volume, and the slight details of footwork from boxing, which I incorporate into my defense.

“We worked on a lot of situational and live training to prepare us for certain scenarios. It helps us to react better and ensures that our endurance is tested and ready.”

“No Chill” – who recently recovered from injury – is inspired by Rahman’s resilience and dedication.

“It’s really nice having him as a training partner. He’s overcome a lot and he’s taught me a lot too,” she said.

Teo is confident that given their preparations and long layoff from competition, both athletes will have a successful homecoming.

“On the standing aspect, I see [him] posing some problems for Jeff, and even on the ground, Radeem has a high chance of submitting him,” she said.

Rahman is equally high on Teo’s chances and believes a finish is in order.

“I really feel Tiffany will win,“ he added. "The way I see it, it’s hard to get the finish in the first round, so she will get the second-round finish by TKO.”
