Troy “Pretty Boy” Worthen wants to continue his impressive march up the bantamweight ranks in ONE Championship.

Since debuting last July, Worthen has rattled off three consecutive wins and has emerged as one of the brightest stars in The Home Of Martial Arts.

Most recently, “Pretty Boy” picked up a unanimous decision win over power hitter Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE.

While the Singapore-based American mixed martial artist believes he is ready to challenge ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes for the gold, he will take all challengers.

“I think I need one more, maybe a very top tier opponent, and then I could get that title shot,” he said.

The Florida native will have no shortage of possible opponents in the stacked division – Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon, “The Underdog” Li Kai Wen, and Shoko Sato all share the same weight class.

However, Worthen has long had his eye on a particular rival since stepping onto the global stage.

“I think I’ve said the name before, and I didn’t really get a response,” he said.

“I’m not the type of person that’s going to keep asking for the same thing, but I think Yusup Saadulaev would be a perfect fight for me.”

Worthen has seen Saadulaev rack up an impressive win streak and believes the Dagestani warrior is the perfect opponent to test himself against.

“He’s 5-0 in the division in his last five fights, and he’s a grappler, which I haven’t yet faced at that level yet. I think it could answer a lot of questions on how I would perform against Bibiano,” Worthen said.

Although Worthen’s powerful wrestling pedigree is nothing to be scoffed at, a match-up against a notable grappler like Saadulaev could provide a stern test for the American.

If “Pretty Boy” can defeat the NAGA gold medalist and Pan American BJJ Champion, then it could set him up for a clash with the greatest Bantamweight World Champion in ONE history.
