ONE Championship has already brought millions of worldwide fans to Singapore, whether in person or online. Next, the martial arts organization will bring Singapore to the people.

On “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition,” which premieres throughout Asia on 18 March, viewers will experience many of the city-state’s iconic landmarks, such as the famed Singapore Zoo and Jewel Changi Airport.

Highlighting Singapore’s landmarks during the show was made possible by a collaboration between ONE and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

“The Singapore Government, through the Singapore Tourism Board, has been instrumental in helping us build a safe and viable environment to host productions and live global sports events during COVID-19,” said Hua Fung Teh, Group President of ONE Championship.

“Through comprehensive support from STB, we were able to film an iconic reality television series. ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition’ was made possible only by Singapore’s world-class infrastructure and unparalleled execution.

“The show depicts the country’s beauty and excellence, allowing our 16 candidates, World Champions, and guest CEOs to film ‘The Apprentice’ with strict and reliable health and safety protocols."

It only makes sense that ONE partnered with STB for the reality show.

STB’s mission is to highlight Singapore’s Passion Made Possible brand, which focuses on the grit and determination that’s made the city-state what it is today.

It’s something even Lynette Pang, Assistant Chief Executive (Marketing Group) of STB, has noted.

“Our collaboration with ONE Championship allows us to present Singapore as an exciting leisure and business destination, in a refreshing branded entertainment format. It also allows us to showcase our tourism industry’s innovation and resilience over this challenging period,” Pang said.

“More than just a backdrop, our city epitomizes the spirit of what the show’s candidates can achieve with both passion and pride. We hope that viewers will be inspired by them and visit us to pursue their passions when the time comes.”

That time has come for the 16 candidates who will compete in business and physical challenges in hopes of earning a one-year, US$250,000 contract to work as ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong’s protege.

Two of those candidates are Alvin Ang and Joy Koh.

Ang is a Thai-Singaporean mixed martial arts enthusiast who founded the Singapore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open, a grappling competition for martial artists around Southeast Asia.

Koh is a gymnastics instructor who aims to teach the next generation of gymnasts by using positive reinforcement.

Making "The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” even more impressive is that it was filmed entirely during COVID-19 restrictions.

ONE and Refinery Media, which produced the show, worked in accordance with the Singapore government’s health and safety protocols, further displaying the Passion Made Possible brand.

Next, you can catch the first episode of “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition” by tuning in to AXN on 18 March at 8:50 p.m. SGT or Mediacorp on 24 March at 11 p.m.
