Sunisa “Thunderstorm” Srisen is coming off an impressive victory over Rika “Tiny Doll” Ishige, and now, the Thai will look to build more momentum against a debuting teenage phenom.

Srisen will battle Singaporean-American grappling sensation Victoria “The Prodigy” Lee in a mixed martial arts showdown at ONE: FISTS OF FURY this Friday, 26 February.

Despite the hype surrounding the 16-year-old Lee, Srisen is feeling rather confident.

“I’ve been training since the new year, never taking a break for even one day. While people hang out, I’m still on the mat,” she said.

“I know that I have a fight coming up with Victoria, but I’m not scared or panicking about it. I train so hard, and I am ready to fight anyone.”

Srisen may feel like she can take on anyone – especially after defeating Ishige – but she’ll be stepping into the Circle against a very specific opponent: the younger sibling of ONE World Champions “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and Christian “The Warrior” Lee.

Even with all the hype, the Thai had trouble researching her upcoming opponent, so she turned to the next best thing.

“I couldn’t find her previous video fights that much, so I studied Angela Lee instead,” Srisen said.

“I think they both would have similar training and style – good at both striking and the ground game. She also has a karate base, too.”

Some athletes will go to great lengths to prepare for their bouts, and Srisen is no different. Because Lee is decorated grappler, “Thunderstorm” has taken her training camp to the extreme.

“My coach put me on the mat with some men who are sumo wrestlers – and some are heavier than 100 kilograms,” she said.

“Also, I have a new weight training coach. He is from Iceland and he helps me to build stronger muscles. Then I also have a sports scientist who takes care of my nutrition.”

It sounds like Srisen is in good hands, but the real test will come Friday night when the Circle door closes and Lee starts to impose her grappling prowess.

Still, the Thai is certain she’s going to stop Lee from kicking off her career in ONE with a victory.

“I can say that I am more than ready for this fight,” Srisen said.

“Victoria, please prepare well. I will take away the win from you and take it back to my home country.”
