Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon has already swung a sledgehammer through the ONE Super Series Muay Thai flyweight division.

Now, the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion will look to demolish the weight class in another sport.

The Thai megastar will make his much-anticipated kickboxing debut against Tagir Khalilov at ONE: FISTS OF FURY this Friday, 26 February, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“That is a fighter’s dream,” Rodtang said.

“I earned the belt in Muay Thai, so I would like to try kickboxing in order to measure my potential, and to see if I can grab the belt or not. If I can do that, grabbing both belts would be a big pride for me and my family.”

It’s clear that Rodtang isn’t doubting himself as he ventures into his new sport. And given what he’s already accomplished on the global stage, fans probably won’t doubt him either.

But for anyone questioning the Thai’s motives, Rodtang has a rather simple answer.

“Why does my style fit with kickboxing? I think it’s because I am good at punching and I’m aggressive. I move forward without worrying about anything,” he said.

“Elbow and knee attacks are not allowed in kickboxing, so I focus on accuracy. Punching and kicking are most important. That makes me think that kickboxing fits with my style.”

Fans have seen his style. His past opponents have felt his style. Now, Rodtang will take all that power and explosiveness into the Circle and try to detonate Khalilov at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

In fact, Rodtang has already prepared a post-fight speech, which includes calling out the winner of the main event fight between ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Ilias “Tweety” Ennahachi and #2-ranked contender “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9.

“I’ll just wait to see who the winner will be, and I will challenge that person for the belt,” Rodtang said.

“If my fight goes well, I will bring it to Mr. Chatri [Sityodtong’s] attention. I need to get a win for a chance to challenge the champion.”

Catch all the action live from ONE: FISTS OF FURY this Friday, 26 February, on meWATCH or the ONE Super App at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT).
