The Apprentice is back, and according to ONE Championship Founder, Chairman, and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, “The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition just might be the toughest in the history of all Apprentice shows.”

Slated for release and distribution in the fourth quarter of 2020, this new version will feature 16 contestants from around the world who will vie against each other in a high-stakes game of mind, body, and spirit. They will also have their limits tested through business competitions and physical challenges.

Created in 2004, the original reality television series billed as “The Ultimate Job Interview” had contestants competing for a US$250,000 job offer.

Contestants of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition will get the same opportunity with the ultimate winner taking home the prize and the chance to work directly under Sityodtong for a year as his protégé at the ONE Championship global headquarters in Singapore.

Licensed under MGM Television, ONE Studios will produce this unique version of the show. It promises to be nothing like fans have ever experienced before.

How The Apprentice Usually Works

Contestants are split into two teams called “corporations,” with one member from each team taking on the role of “Project Manager” every episode.

The two corporations compete against each other in various business challenges, such as selling products and services, and raising funds for charity.

Business competitions test contestants’ IQ, EQ, common sense, strategic thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and character as they focus on real-world problems, business models, and industries.

The losing team then attends a boardroom meeting where the host proceeds to eliminate one member – usually with the words, “You’re fired!” – from the show.

The Apprentice has aired in over 30 countries around the globe, with unique local versions in the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, and Norway, among others.

So what will make The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition different from the rest? These three things will surely separate this version from the others.

Physical Challenges

It will have a strong physical aspect that other versions did not have.

ONE World Champions are expected to play a major role in physical challenges that contestants will undergo, and they will push them to their physical and mental limits.

Superstar mixed martial artists like ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee or two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang could pop up in episodes that showcase strength and skill.

Thousands signed up for auditions after the show was announced in late February, but ONE has yet to reveal the first wave of applicants who made the cut.

ONE Championship’s True Martial Arts Values

Another unique feature of The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition is that it will promote true martial arts values.

Built on a strong and sturdy foundation of martial arts principles, ONE Championship focuses on the honorable aspect of the sport, not just the competition.

Honor, integrity, humility, respect, courage, discipline, and compassion are what Sityodtong describes as true martial arts values. These values helped him build a billion-dollar organization that truly speaks to the heart of Asian people.

Sityodtong loves to share stories of his ONE Championship athletes, many of whom overcame seemingly insurmountable odds like extreme poverty, hardship, tribulation, and strife. The company hopes to inspire audiences with these true tales of overcoming adversity and the profound effect that martial arts has had on human lives.

The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition will retain the show’s original vibe, but fans should look forward to inspirational content.

Chatri Sityodtong

Perhaps the biggest difference the ONE Championship version of The Apprentice will have is the host himself.

In the original version of the show, billionaire entrepreneur and real-estate tycoon Donald Trump served as the host for 14 seasons. Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took over when Trump ran for President of the United States. Celebrity chef and lifestyle entrepreneur Martha Stewart also hosted a season of The Apprentice.

Sityodtong is the main man behind ONE Championship’s rise as a global martial arts giant and the tale of how he built his organization from an idea on a piece of paper is truly extraordinary.

Just like the aforementioned hosts, Sityodtong is a savvy businessman and a billionaire entrepreneur who knows how to create a successful enterprise. He owns many successful companies in various industries and has experience that will no doubt be featured on The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition.

The company’s new reality series will also feature Asia’s Top 12 CEOs (one per episode), as they will take his or her place beside Sityodtong in the business and physical challenges.

The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition is shaping up to be truly different from previous versions of the show. The program is slated for distribution on major television networks and digital channels worldwide.
