Former UFC star Arjan “Singh” Bhullar is carving his legacy out in ONE Championship, and the 34-year-old cage veteran is on the brink of accomplishing the goal he set out for himself since joining the Singapore-based martial arts organization in 2019.

Bhullar is slated to face ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera for the title some time next year. The Canadian-born Indian wrestler says he will beat his Filipino-American counterpart, and then go on to dominate ONE’s 120.2-kilogram weight class.

“No one is more important to me than Brandon Vera, at the moment. He is the task at hand and the job that needs to get done. Beyond that, I’m not focusing on anybody else,” said Bhullar.

Bhullar has been on a collision course with Vera since his one-sided victory over former ONE World Title challenger Mauro Cerilli in October of last year.

Although he is certainly not looking past Vera by any means, “Singh” is confident he will take the throne once he can get “The Truth” into the Circle, and then usher in a new era in ONE Championship’s heavyweight division.

“There’s a lot of guys in there, and I’m excited to rule the division,” said Bhullar.

“Everyone is dangerous at heavyweight. Everyone is big and strong, with the ability to end fights, hurt you permanently, maim you. That’s the danger every time you fight with someone in this weight class. That’s why everyone tunes in. I don’t think anyone is illegitimate. If you’re in the Circle and you prepared for that walk, you are dangerous, and I will approach you as such.”

One thing is for sure, Bhullar is not lacking in self-esteem. The 34-year-old fight veteran fully believes his skills are enough to trump anything anyone else brings to the table.

“What do I do better than all the other heavyweights? I’m a proven winner, and I win in many different ways. If I need to wrestle you down and grind you out, I will do it that way. If I need to stand and pick you apart that way, I’ll do it that way,” said Bhullar.

ONE Championship returns on Friday, December 4th with ONE: BIG BANG, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore. The main event features a showdown between ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia of the Ukraine and challenger Murat “The Butcher” Aygun of the Netherlands.

The card also features a showdown between heavyweights Amir Aliakbari and Islam Abasov, both new to the ONE mix, and names Bhullar is keeping his eye on. Although he does have a vested interest in the results of this matchup, Bhullar says he’s fully fixated on the challenges that Vera poses.

When asked what sets him apart from other heavyweights ONE Championship recently signed, however, Bhullar wasn’t shy in letting the world know what makes him a special fighter.

“Every fight, I’m evolving. Every single fight, if you watch my fights, I’m evolving. I’m just excited. It doesn’t matter what the puzzle is in front of me, I have an answer and that’s something I don’t think any of these guys have. They have their strengths, but they don’t have that well-rounded game that I have,” said Bhullar.

“Beyond that, I’ve got the confidence. I have a lot of momentum behind me, a great opportunity in front of me that I’m going to cash in on and create that great legacy. That is my edge over everybody in the game.”
