Alain “The Panther” Ngalani has made waves on social media with his seemingly superhuman abilities, and after a lengthy layoff, “The Panther” will take his physical attributes to the ONE Championship Circle.

Ngalani will face massive promotional newcomer “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane in a heavyweight mixed martial arts matchup at ONE: UNBREAKABLE II, a previously recorded event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium that airs this Friday.

“I think, overall, I am much better than [“Reug Reug”]. I think I am very strong, I am very flexible, I am very agile, and I am very fast,” Ngalani said.

“You can’t just be big without having the advantage of flexibility and being able to use the speed the way you have to. This is MMA – it’s not wrestling, so you have to be able to adapt, you have to be able to move, and you have to be really fast in everything you want to do, so speed is important.”

“The Panther” proved that point in September 2017 when he scored the fastest knockout in ONE heavyweight history against Hideki “Shrek” Sekine, taking just 11 seconds to finish the fight.

Moreover, Sekine was a bigger heavyweight, which means Ngalani won’t be affected by Kane’s size advantage.

“I have faced people much bigger than him before and, if anything, I love the challenges,” Ngalani said. “It excites me and triggers me even more to face someone who seems to be stronger and bigger than me.”

Ngalani was originally supposed to fight Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort in his return to action, but the COVID-19 pandemic has brought that intriguing matchup to a halt for now.

With that said, “The Panther” had been training for Belfort, which meant he was forced to change up his tactics after finding out that “Reug Reug” would take the Brazilian’s place.

Ngalani, however, is not planning for an easier run against his new foe.

“That’s not to say I take my opponent for granted. Not at all. I value his strength and his background,” he said of Kane.

“I know that he is a champion in traditional wrestling. I have always liked this wrestling style. It is very popular in Africa, especially in Senegal. Me, personally, I am a fan of that style and that is why I am even more excited to measure myself against him on this stage.”

“The Panther” not only wants to measure his own skills, but he also wants to cut down Kane’s abilities. And because of that, he’s not planning for their match to go the distance.

“It’s been long overdue. I am happy to get back into the cage and I need to show the fans something special, so I am ready for this,” Ngalani said.

“I definitely do not think this fight will go to the end. It will definitely end by finish. I am planning to finish him — that’s my plan.”

Catch all the action from the previously recorded ONE: UNBREAKABLE II this Friday, 29 January, by downloading the ONE Super App or tuning in meWATCH at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT).
