Kuala Lumpur’s Agilan “Alligator” Thani owns some of the most epic battles in ONE Championship’s welterweight division.

The Malaysian phenom has finished eight of his 11 wins by knockout or submission, and though he has suffered some defeats during the process, he is ready to have a run against one of these guys soon.

One of the bouts that interest him is a rematch against Sweden’s hard-hitting machine Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam.

“Zebaztian Kadestam is a name that everyone keeps mentioning that I should run it over again with, and I’m hoping this day will come,” the ONE Championship athlete offered.

“During the last fight against Kadestam I was not physically prepared, I had an injury and it affected my style a lot. This is why I want to see how much more I can do at 100 percent against Kadestam.”

Agilan faced the former ONE Welterweight World Champion in July 2018 at ONE: PURSUIT OF POWER in Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena. “Alligator" was on the back of a two-match win streak while Kadestam was coming off a loss to then World Champion Ben “Funky” Askren.

Kadestam fended off most of his foe’s attacks throughout the three-round encounter, eventually finishing his opponent with a knee, a downward elbow, and a cross elbow at 1:56 of the third round.

Thani learned a lot about his rival that very night, and if given the chance for a rematch, he believes it will be nothing short of a memorable encounter for the millions of fans watching worldwide.

“Fighting with somebody whom you know will bring the fight to you, excites people the most. You [as their opponent] know it’ll be a hard fight, but regardless of the outcome, you know you gave it your all and you did your best because that guy pushed you to your limits. This is what I discovered from the match against Kadestam,” he said.

“Kadestam is very durable. He has strong and hard punches. The biggest thing I learned about him is patience. He can take a shot and he can keep on waiting for that right moment to connect. He can move around and avoid takedowns, but when he throws, everything he throws is hard.”
