ONE Championship has given us truly awesome displays of non-stop action in the first quarter of 2020.

International stars and decorated martial arts World Champions produced some of their finest performances inside the Circle.

Here is a look back at the three most impressive showings from this past quarter.

Sam-A Gaiyanghadao Makes History With Third ONE World Title

Sam-A Gaiyanghadao wrote his name into the history books yet again on 28 February at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE, where he dominated Australian star Rocky Ogden to win the inaugural ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.

Despite being 16 years older than Ogden, the Evolve representative showed little signs of age.

He slipped past the young Australian’s fast strikes and counter-attacked with potent punches of his own.

Through all five rounds, Sam-A looked in control and comfortably dealt with everything Ogden threw at him.

In the end, he was rewarded a clear unanimous decision and the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title belt in Singapore.

“The Iron Man” Defeats “The General”

At ONE: A NEW TOMORROW in Bangkok, Thailand, Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon and Jonathan “The General” Haggerty clashed in their highly anticipated rematch for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship.

The hometown hero expertly used distance and power to pick his English rival apart with aggressive kicks to the body.

“The Iron Man” upped the tempo and dropped Haggerty with a liver shot.

Despite “The General’s” best efforts to stay in the match, he was soon overwhelmed by Rodtang’s relentless pressure.

In a stunning show of power, “The Iron Man” surged forward and sent Haggerty down three times to close the show and retain his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title.

Janet Todd Redeems Herself Against Stamp Fairtex

Janet “JT” Todd finally redeemed herself after her previous loss against her old foe, Stamp Fairtex, at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE.

The California native defeated the Thai hero via split decision to become the new ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion.

Todd used a different strategy from her first battle with Stamp, opting to stay mobile throughout the match.

The Fairtex representative could not throw her punches with her usual power and allowed Todd to counter-attack with punishing strikes to the body.

“JT” continuously kept her Thai rival guessing with low kicks and right hooks, and she was ultimately rewarded with the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title.
