At ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE on Friday, 28 February, martial artists from all around the world tested their mettle against each other in “The Lion City.”

ONE Championship ignited the global fanbase with an 11-bout card, which saw a World Title change hands, the emergence of new contenders, and talented athletes rise up the ranks.

We look at three of the top performances from the athletes at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Janet “JT” Todd Proves Stamp Fairtex Is Beatable

American Muay Thai specialist Janet “JT” Todd fell short in her first battle with two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex last year.

However, on Friday night, she battled back to defeat the previously-unbeaten Thai by split decision in their rematch to earn the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title.

Todd devised a sound game plan of damaging low kicks, and it worked to perfection. The two-time Pan-American Muay Thai Champion also showcased her sharp boxing skills and nifty footwork to evade the oncoming punches from the defending World Champion.

She was ultimately rewarded with a split decision and became the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion.

Tiffany “No Chill” Teo Caps Inspirational Comeback With Victory

After an abrupt eye injury last year, Singaporean Boxing Champion Tiffany “No Chill” Teo yearned to get back into the Circle.

On Friday, “No Chill” dismantled dangerous Japanese grappler Ayaka Miura with ease to become the number one contender in the women’s strawweight division.

Apart from the opening minute where she was caught in an arm triangle, Teo looked dominant.

The Singaporean athlete demonstrated mastery of her boxing to inflict damage onto Miura from the outside. Her wide stance and quick reaction times were instrumental in keeping the judoka from getting close.

After a failed takedown attempt from Miura, Teo pummeled her Japanese rival to force the stoppage and earn the TKO victory with just 15 seconds left in the final round.

Troy “Pretty Boy” Worthen Continues Rapid Ascent

If Troy “Pretty Boy” Worthen keeps up his winning streak, a ONE World Title shot may soon be on the cards.

The American extended his unbeaten run with a unanimous decision win over tough-as-nails Kiwi-Filipino Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo.

Worthen performed admirably in his toughest assignment to date.

The NCWA Wrestling Champion was tagged early by bruising punches, but he kept his composure and smothered Abelardo with his superior wrestling.

“Pretty Boy” is now 3-0 in ONE Championship and is heading toward the number one contender spot. Another win may likely get him in front of Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes for the latter’s ONE Bantamweight World Title.

The Home Of Martial Arts returns to action on 20 March for ONE: HEART OF HEROES at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
