Stephen van Huizen branded the national men's hockey team's 7-0 defeat to England in the opening Group B match of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on Friday as "unacceptable".
The Malaysia head coach said the Speedy Tigers made too many mistakes, allowing Sam Ward, Mark Gleghorne, David Goodfield, Harry Martin and Phil Roper to score past them.
On top of that, Malaysia did not make a single attempt on goal.
"We really cannot accept the 7-0 defeat," he told Astro Arena.
"Too many silly mistakes, I mean, we gave them easy goals.
"But we will bounce back and try to get a good result tomorrow."
Similarly, national player Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin Tengku Abdul Jalil was disappointed with the defeat.
"I feel that it was a poor match and a bad start for our team," he said.
"We will try to do better in our next match. That's all I can say."
Malaysia will take on Wales tomorrow.
