Shubhankar Sharma fired a stunning 10-under 62 in the final round to claim a two-stroke victory at the Maybank Championship on Sunday.

The Indian holed 10 birdies without a blemish at the Saujana Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur to finish at 21 under.

That was enough for the 21-year-old to secure a second European Tour title, with Spaniard Jorge Campillo (68), who held the overnight lead, his closest rival.

Sharma, who was 18th after the third round, made five birdies across six holes beginning at the fourth before another five on the back nine saw him add to the Joburg Open crown he won in December.

He made just three bogeys for the tournament, becoming the third Indian – after Jeev Milkha Singh and Anirban Lahiri – to win two European Tour events in the same season.

For the second straight day, Campillo opened his round with an eagle at the par-five first hole.

However, he was unable to prevent the surging Sharma, whose incredible round saw him to a deserved triumph.

Ryan Fox (66) and Pablo Larrazabal (66) finished in a tie for third at 18 under.

The group of Nino Bertasio (69), Ryo Ishikawa (69), Hideto Tanihara (69), Khalin Joshi (70) and Dylan Frittelli (71) were tied for fifth a further two shots back.

Englishman Lee Westwood posted his second consecutive 70 to end up at 14 under.
