United States-based Wan Kuzri Wan Kamal is among the 35 players called up for Malaysia U-19's first centralised training ahead of the 2020 AFC U-19 Championship.

The St. Louis Football Academy midfielder, a younger brother of Sporting Kansas City midfielder Wan Kuzain, will report for the training camp from July 6 to 26.

Adam Nadzmi Zamri, who is attached with BISP Cruzeiro Football Academy in Thailand, is another overseas-based player to be called up by head coach Brad Maloney.

Several players involved in the qualifying campaign, including wonderkid Luqman Hakim Shamsudin whose future remains uncertain, are not called up for the upcoming training camp but are expected to be included for the second round of centralised training.

Malaysia qualified for the tournament, taking place in Uzbekistan in October, by finishing at the top of their qualifying group with four wins out of four.

In last month's draw for the competition, the young Tigers were drawn into the same group as Qatar, Tajikistan and Yemen in Group D.

In their previous AFC U-19 outing in 2018, Malaysia finished bottom of their group consisting of Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan and China.
