Spain went top of World Cup Qualifying Group B after goals from Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Gerard Moreno earned Luis Enrique's side a 3-1 win over Kosovo.

Dani Olmo, who netted a last-minute winner to spare Spain's blushes in a 2-1 victory over Georgia, opened the scoring against Kosovo with a sumptuous finish.

Ferran Torres followed up quickly with a confidently taken second, allowing Spain to breathe a sigh of relief as a campaign that got off to a stuttering start began to gather pace.

A blunder from goalkeeper Unai Simon allowed Kosovo's Besar Halimi to pull one back, but Moreno headed home to seal victory and give Spain a one-point lead over Sweden, who have a game in hand in Group B.

Alvaro Morata turned his marker in the 22nd minute but fired straight at the legs of Samir Ujkani from six yards out.

Olmo's opener arrived just over 11 minutes later when Jordi Alba's pass found him on the edge of the penalty area and he sent a superb curling shot into the top corner.

It took Spain only a minute and 20 seconds to double the lead, Torres powering into the box before scoring with a fierce low drive into the far corner from 12 yards.

Kosovo caused a scare in the second half when Marcos Llorente had to be alert to dispossess Vedat Muriqi as he bore down on goal, having easily beaten Eric Garcia on his way through.

Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon then won a challenge on the edge of his box before sprinting into a second tackle 35 yards out of his goal, only to lose out to Halimi who lobbed into the unguarded net.

Moreno, on as a second-half substitute for Morata, headed Koke's corner into the far corner with 15 minutes left to avoid a nervous finish.

What does it mean? No room for complacency among Luis Enrique's men

Spain claimed victory against a side 111 places below them in FIFA's World Rankings, and Luis Enrique will know not to get carried away.

Simon's howler provided a timely reminder, mid-way through the second half, that this Spain team is error-prone and Luis Enrique must address that if they are to challenge for honours.

Olmo the merrier

RB Leipzig midfielder Olmo has arrived on the international stage in this round of qualifiers, scoring two vital goals to put Spain's campaign on course.

He attempted five shots at goal, hitting the target twice and scoring once here, while making four key passes for his side.

Garcia gives glimpse of defensive frailties

Muriqi put Garcia on the floor just after the hour mark, gliding past the Spain centre-back and almost putting Kosovo back in the game.

Garcia lost possession six times to put his side in unnecessary danger.

What's next?

Spain take on Portugal in a friendly on June 4 to complete their preparations for the European Championship, while Kosovo must wait until September 2 for their next World Cup qualifier, away against Georgia.
