Malaysia U-18 striker Luqman Hakim Shamsudin will be linking up with K.V. Kortrijk next year.

The transfer was announced by Minister of Youth and Sports Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Malaysian business mogul Vincent Tan, who owns the Belgian club, during a press conference held on Friday.

The Kelantanese, who helped Malaysia reach the 2019 AFF U-18 Youth Championship final last month, will ink a five-year deal with his new team when he turns 18 next March.

In the meantime, he will remain in Malaysia before training with Cardiff City, another club owned by Tan, for three months next year.

Luqman, who was also linked with several clubs including Japanese side Cerezo Osaka, has been one of the country's hottest youth prospects especially after his 2018 AFC U-16 Championships exploits, where he finished as the top scorer.
