Former Malaysia head coach Chow Kwai Lam passed away today at the age of 76.

Chow, who also played in the 60s and 70s , died at the Ampang Puteri Hospital with family members at his bedside.

“My father passed away peacefully. All the children and other family members were with him,” said Chow’s eldest daughter, Carey.

Carey said her father was admitted to the hospital three days ago after his health deteriorated.

Besides the national team, Chow was involved with football clubs including Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, Selangor, and Singapore's Tampines Rovers and Paya Lebar Punggol.

He memorably led Kuala Lumpur to three consecutive Malaysia Cup wins and one league title in the late 80s.
