Felda United head coach B. Sathianathan wanted the Malaysia U-19 players to stay grounded after their recent AFF U-19 Youth Championship success.

The young Tigers defeated Myanmar 4-3 on Saturday to win their maiden AFF U-19 title, having finished as runners-up on five occasions in the past.

Additionally, five of the players involved are playing for Felda at various levels: Anwar Ibrahim, Azri Ghani, Tasnim Fitri, Syahmi Zambri and Zahril Azri.

Despite their achievement,Sathianathan refused to shower them with too much praise, as it is easy for young players to get complacent.

"They are now AFF champions, and as a coach of five of the players, I congratulate and praise them, but that is all. They need to work harder and cannot get big-headed," the former Malaysia head coach said.

Sathianathan also called the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to have a detailed plan in place for Bojan Hodak's team to maintain the winning momentum for future tournaments.

"What's important is they need to be exposed to playing at international level such as friendly matches against Thailand, South Korea, Japan and others, not just competing in tournaments," he added.
