Ahead of the new Premier League season, Astro reiterated its commitment as the home of sports in Malaysia to deliver the most comprehensive coverage and best viewing experience of live sporting events.

All 380 matches of the new English football season, kicking off on September 12 with a London derby between Fulham and Arsenal, will be shown live on TV and Astro GO for Sports Pack subscribers.

Other major European football leagues will follow suit around the same time, while the Scottish Premiership and Ligue 1, both live on Astro's beIN Sports channel, already began last month.

Besides football, Astro Sports Pack subscribers get access to other global sporting events including Formula 1, MotoGP, UFC, NBA and many more.

Euan Smith, Chief Operating Officer of Astro Group and Chief Executive Officer of Astro TV, expressed his excitement for all the sporting action set to unfold.

"Sports fans are some of our most engaged and enthusiastic viewers. With live sports making their return, Astro is back stronger and more excited than ever to serve Malaysian sports fans with the biggest sporting events from around the world.

"Besides providing the most comprehensive coverage, we are taking football viewing to the next level with our Ultra Box and Broadband offering live matches in unparalleled 4K UHD. Customers need never miss a sporting moment with our Astro GO companion app, streaming exclusive Premier League programmes on demand wherever and whenever they wish.

"We're mindful that as we navigate the ongoing global situation it is vital for Astro to find new ways
to engage customers and sports fans virtually. We see headroom for growth in sports, and are pushing
hard on new ways to drive value and revenue in the digital space," Smith said.

Lee Choong Khay, Astro's Head of Sports, added that even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Astro is constantly looking for new ways for fans to live out their passion for sports and engage with their sporting heroes.

"By going digital, we are able to offer money-can't-buy experience such as virtual meet and greets with Premier League footballers and pundits.

"In addition, look out for live match viewing parties with Astro Supersport hosts and talents as well as opportunities to win exclusive merchandise," Lee said.
