Derrick Rose's stay in Minnesota could last a little bit longer.

According to a report from The Athletic, the Timberwolves are interested in re-signing Rose, who was on a one-year, $2.1 million contract this season. The move would be mutual as the point guard wants to stay with his longtime head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Per the Athletic:

No question that they are interested in bringing Rose back. Thibs certainly heard plenty of questions when he first brought Rose in. But in that role as a combo guard off the bench, Rose was good. He played solid defense, scored well and was a great teammate.

The question will be can he stay healthy for a full season? His body just keeps betraying him, and he missed some time with a sprained ankle during his stint with the Wolves.

Rose signed with Minnesota as a free agent in March after he was traded by the Cavaliers and then waived by the Jazz in February.

The 29-year-old appeared in nine regular-season games with Minnesota, averaging 5.8 points and 1.2 assists, but he didn't start in any of them. However, he had a strong postseason showing against the Rockets, putting up 14.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.
