Rick Brunson has resigned from his position as a Timberwolves assistant coach, effective immediately.

The Timberwolves on Tuesday announced that they accepted Brunson's resignation, but the alleged reason behind his move poses bigger problems.

According to The Athletic, Brunson has been accused of workplace misconduct and is facing allegations of "improper interactions with several women while on the job." Citing unidentified sources, ESPN reported that one of the women involved is a media member.

Brunson, 45, previously worked for Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau in Chicago before joining the staff in Minnesota ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Brunson was found not guilty in 2015 by a Lake County, Ill., judge of sexual abuse stemming from what he said was a consensual act in 2014 and part of an ongoing extramarital relationship.
