Kevin Love is set to become the featured player in the Cavaliers offense with the departure of LeBron James. But, he may not spend all of 2018-19 in Cleveland.

James agreed to a four-year, $154 million contract with the Lakers last week and Cleveland said following his announcement it had no plans of trading Love. The Cavaliers, however, are open to a potential deal for the 29-year-old forward, according to a recent report from the Athletic.

One anonymous NBA executive told the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Sunday they believe Love will be on the Cavaliers roster to start 2018-19.

"Unless they get blown away by an offer, I think they'll open the season with Love," the executive said.

Love averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game playing alongside James last season. He could improve those numbers and increase his trade value in 2018-19.

“I think he'll be more in demand during the season by the trading deadline," the executive said. "Kevin could have a very good year for the Cavs being the focal point of the offense. He is a talented player."

Love has two seasons remaining on the five-year, $110 million contract he signed with the Cavaliers in July 2015.
