The Eastern and Western Conference finals of the 2018 NBA playoffs are shaping up to be one of the closest back-and-forth series in NBA history.

The Warriors forced a Game 7 against the Rockets in the West, while the Cavaliers came back from behind to even the series, also needing seven games to decide the winner of the East.

To put in perspective how unusual it is for both conference finals to make it a seven-game series, it hasn't happened in 39 years. Both conferences will need a Game 7 to decide who makes it into the NBA Finals for the first time since 1979, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Golden State heads into Game 7 after coming off of a huge 115-86 Game 6 win Saturday with 35 points from Klay Thompson and 29 from Stephen Curry while the Cavaliers pulled off a 109-99 Game 6 victory Friday behind 46 points from LeBron James.

Game 7 for the Eastern Conference finals returns to Boston on Sunday with tipoff set for 8:30 p.m. ET and the Western Conference finals will go to Houston, scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET.
