Derrick Rose is staying in Minnesota.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the free-agent guard has agreed to a one-year contract to remain with the Timberwolves.

Rose began last season in Cleveland, but the Cavaliers sent him to the Jazz in their blockbuster trade on Feb. 8 that involved Iman Shumpert and Jae Crowder to land George Hill and Rodney Hood. Rose was waived by Utah just two days later but signed with the Timberwolves for the rest of the season in March.

Rose, 29, played just 25 games last season. The three-time All-Star and 2011 MVP averaged 5.8 points and 1.2 assists in nine regular-season games for Minnesota.
