Chris Paul wants Carmelo Anthony to join the Rockets.

Paul is pushing Houston to acquire the 34-year-old forward, according to a report from Yahoo Sports. Paul and Anthony are good friends, the report says.

Anthony and the Thunder reportedly agreed to part ways last week.

Anthony was traded from the Knicks to Oklahoma City in exchange for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a second-round pick in September 2017. He hit just 40.2 percent of his shots and averaged a career-low 16.2 points in 2017-18.

Anthony, a 10-time All-Star, was selected by the Nuggets with the third overall pick in the 2003 draft. He spent just under eight seasons in Denver before he was dealt to New York in February 2011.

Anthony has averaged 24.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during his 15-year NBA career.

The Heat have been linked to Anthony while the Lakers are reportedly one of his preferred destinations.

The Rockets finished the 2017-18 regular season with a 65-17 record. They held a 3-2 lead on the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals but dropped the last two games of the series and were eliminated.

Paul agreed to a new four-year contract, worth a reported $160 million, with Houston when free agency began July 1. But, the Rockets lost free agent forward Trevor Ariza, who signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Suns.
