Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway has undergone surgery for a stress fracture in his lower left leg, the team announced Thursday.

Hardaway, 27, is expected to be ready for the beginning of training camp in September.

He missed the final 11 games of the regular season with the injury. The Mavericks had just acquired him Feb. 1 from the Knicks in the trade that also brought Kristaps Porzingis to Dallas.

Hardaway averaged 18.1 points per game last season, including 15.5 ppg in 19 games with the Mavericks. He is a career 34.3 percent shooter from 3-point range.
