The Lakers made it clear before free agency started that they felt pressure to make some big moves this offseason — and they certainly delivered with the signing of LeBron James.

President of basketball operations Magic Johnson played an integral role in landing the four-time MVP, and Kobe Bryant was quick to send Johnson some praise. In fact, he thinks Johnson, who already has one statue outside of Staples Center, deserves another one.

In an appearance on "The Stephen A. Smith Show," Bryant jokingly made the suggestion.

"Think about this for a second. Magic was always my favorite player growing up. He wins five championships with the Lakers, right? And then he becomes an owner and wins five more," Bryant said, per Lakers Nation.

"Then he steps away, comes back when he’s president of basketball of operations and is influential in bringing LeBron James to L.A. I mean, they might have to get this dude another statue. What Magic is pulling off, man, it’s absolutely incredible.”

If Johnson did receive another statue, he would be the first person to have two. He is one of 10 people to have a statue outside of Staples Center along with Wayne Gretzky, Shaquille O’Neal, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Luc Robitaille, Chick Hearn, Bob Miller, and Oscar De La Hoya, Lakers Nation notes.

Although it may not actually happen, Johnson has already made a statement in the direction the franchise is heading after securing James.
