Kevin Love has been ruled out of game seven between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Sunday.

Cavaliers forward Love has been placed in the league's concussion protocol after knocking heads with Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum in the first quarter of Friday's 109-99 win.

Play was stopped following the collision and the All-Star had to be helped off the floor, though Cleveland said his status will be "updated as appropriate".

"Kevin Love was evaluated today prior to the team's flight to Boston [on Saturday] afternoon," said a statement from the Cavs.

"He is experiencing concussion-like symptoms and has been placed in the league's concussion protocol. He is now listed as out for [Sunday's] game in Boston. His status will be updated as appropriate."

Jeff Green replaced Love in the line-up and posted 14 points, while LeBron James led the team with 46 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
