Goh Liu Ying has denied being a home wrecker after allegations that Malaysia’s badminton poster girl was involved in someone’s marriage surfaced on social media last week.

The Olympic silver medalist admitted being distraught over the rumours, and recently lodged a police report and seeked legal action against her perpetrators.

“I can unreservedly confirm that I have not in any way disrupted or was involved as a third party in anyone’s marriage. I am seeking legal advice and will not hesitate to take legal action against those who maliciously attack me or spread lies on the Internet.

“I am totally innocent and these false rumours has affected my loved ones greatly and cost countless sleepless nights. I would like to reiterate that I am fully committed to my badminton career and this will not affect my preparations for the Olympics.

“My badminton training is continuing at full speed and I will not let anything stand in the way to fulfill my dream for myself and my beloved country, Malaysia,” posted Goh on her social media account.

Goh and her partner Chan Peng Soon checked in to the Academy Badminton Malaysia for a swab test on Tuesday to begin training with the national team in preparation for the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics .

The pair are ranked seventh in the world and on the Olympic ranking, and are aiming to better their silver medal in Rio de Janerio four years ago.
